Blood Calumny, winner of The Brave New Weird Award in 2022, is now free to read in Inner Worlds, Issue 6.
I’m very pleased to share this trans horror story with a wider audience who may not have been able to access it in print. Originally published in Bodies Full of Burning, and reprinted in my collection Convulsive, it went on to win a Brave New Weird Award from Tenebrous Press in 2022. Everything in life is expensive, and getting more expensive each day it seems, including books. So it’s great to set a story free online for all to read, especially one with the sort of explicitly trans subject matter that may soon be subject to censorship.
Not to be an alarmist, but let’s read and share while we can!
Check out the rest of this issue of Inner Worlds while you’re on the site. It’s full of good stuff, and worth a subscription if you want to support the type of new work they’re showcasing.

Thanks for reading!
I don’t usually do this, but in case you don’t realize it, writing isn’t the most profitable occupation, which is another reason I’m always pleased to sell a reprint like Blood Calumny. It’s a little extra paycheck in an increasingly unmanageable and expensive world. It’s not much, though. If you’d like to throw some support my way, my Venmo name is @horrorsong and my PayPal link is https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/horrorsong – and no worries if you’re in the same boat and can’t help out! If you know anyone who wants to go down in history as a patron of the arts and keep me writing well into my dotage, pass along my info, okay?
Follow here to get links to new stories as they’re published, as well as news of upcoming book releases and events. Seriously, this is the best way not to lose touch in our ever-shifting social media landscape! I won’t spam you, and I’ll only post when I have something worthwhile to share.
