Dead Boys Don’t Cry

New book announcement! Behold!

DEAD BOYS DON’T CRY, a cosmic-erotic slasher and anti-murder mystery will be out through CLASH Books in June 2027

What do we really know of other people, even those we’re intimate with? How much can you know, given the brevity of our interactions?

This composite novel started with the side character Chris Fournier from “Lysergic Is The Circle Of My Secret.” When he would not stay dead, I realized I had a bigger problem on my hands than a single short story, or a closeted asshole who ruins people’s lives.

I followed him around for a few years, sometimes as the main character, sometimes glimpsed close up or at a greater distance, and mostly through the eyes of others, with all the limitations that entails. Once, I let him speak for himself, though you’ll have to decide how much you can trust him.

Trust is fundamental to this book, both thematically and in the writing process. I am trusting you, the reader, to understand a life story the way our consciousness actually experiences it through perceptions, misperceptions, assumptions, and memories. I constructed this novel like a jigsaw puzzle with multiple points of view, hauntings, and anachronisms, and layered them in among the murders, resurrections, and infidelities. I wrote it in the order you’ll read it, if you choose to do so, except for the first and last chapters, which both came last.

No apologies or dumbing-down. All the puzzle pieces are there. You won’t find continuity errors. Of course, you may find many lies.
