Today I have a new short story featured in Shortwave magazine online. It’s free to read. I hope you’ll take a moment to check it out.
Part corporate horror, part identity horror, “Given“ is part of my recent experimentation with more simplified language. I’m not giving up on purple prose and wild flights of fanciful obscure language; but having pushed that envelope further than many readers could tolerate, I wanted to explore something more direct, streamlined, and yet just as intricately made.
“This is my design.”
